February is a big month in our house for birthdays. It’s a short month but, we have 5 birthdays. Actually the birthday parade begins on the 24th of January and rolls right on through the 22nd of February so, that is 6 birthdays in about 4 weeks.
So, to stay in tune with sewing and not buying clothes I have been busy at my sewing machine. That is until I caught the yucky winter crud that’s going around which has turned into a sinus infection. But, I have gotten a good start on things.
I made two pair of these 5 panel boxers. One pair for hubby and one pair for my step-son. They are similar in size and build. They both got bacon boxers. So, I cut both pair out at the same time with the intention of sewing them at the same time. That is until I came upon the french seams. I have sewn french seams before and I really enjoy sewing them but for some reason I just could not keep my head wrapped around placing the wrong sides together to stitch the seam. After ripping out a couple of seams I made the decision to slow it down and sew just one pair at a time.
It worked. I got through both pair and each pair was a huge hit with their recipients.
I also made a pair of “Frozen” pajamas to send off to the other side of the world and forgot to take a picture of them. But, I have another pair of them to make so I will take and post pictures of those later.
I still have a couple of more birthdays to get through this month. I wonder what other sewing I can do. I wonder if my sinuses will clear up enough for me to enjoy it.
